10 Thrifted Fashion Finds You Need This Season

10 Thrifted Fashion Finds You Need This Season

There’s something deeply satisfying about finding a treasure in a thrift store. It’s the thrill of the hunt, the creativity it sparks, and the joy of curating a wardrobe that’s truly you - not just what the racks at the mall are pushing.
Thrifted fashion isn’t just affordable, it’s stylish, sustainable, and empowering. You get to express your individuality and make smart choices for the planet. As someone who’s obsessed with secondhand style, I’m excited to share 10 pieces I’m always hunting for - and why you’ll want them in your closet too.
1. Denim Jackets
A good thrifted denim jacket is timeless. Look for vintage Levi’s, faded wash, or cool embroidery. Oversized is in, I usually look for mens L-XL or women's L-XXL, wear it over dresses, hoodies, or double up with denim-on-denim.
2. Oversized Blazers
Structured shoulders. Slouchy length. Instant power look. I love pairing a thrifted blazer with bike shorts or wide-leg jeans and boots. Keep an eye out for linen, unique patterns or tweed textures - they elevate everything.
3. Cowboy Boots
They’re BACK, and honestly, they never left my closet (Calgary gal!). Look for well-worn leather, pointed toes, or even colorful stitching. Style them with denim skirts, dresses, or even under wide-leg trousers.
4. Midi Skirts
A satin midi with sneakers? Yes Please. A floral midi with a band tee? Effortless. Whether you like boho, minimalist, or retro, you’ll always find thrifted midi skirts worth spinning in.
5. Statement Belts
Western buckles, gold chains, oversized leather, 90's studded - belts are an easy thrift win. Cinch a blazer or elevate a plain dress. Pro tip: they’re often in bins near the shoes, so dig a little.
6. Vintage Handbags
No need for a designer splurge. A good vintage leather bag adds personality and practicality. I look for structured shapes, top handles, fun colours or beaded clutch styles that feel one-of-a-kind.
7. Chunky Sweaters
Cozy up in a heavy knit or grandpa-style cardigan. These are everywhere in thrift shops, and they add texture and warmth to simple outfits. Layer over a collared shirt for a preppy look or with leggings for lazy luxe vibes. I just wore one over a golf polo for a golf tournament - so chic and sporty!
8. Linen Trousers
Relaxed, breathable, and polished. Linen pants are the perfect in-between piece - comfy but elegant. Earth tones and off-whites are everywhere right now, and thrift stores are packed with them.
9. Graphic Tees
From band tees to retro prints to ironic slogans, graphic tees are the personality piece of any outfit. I love tying them in a knot over a midi skirt or layering them under overalls.
10. Jewelry Finds
You’d be shocked how many actual vintage pieces end up at thrift stores. Layered chains, clip-on earrings, pins, brooches - these are the details that pull a look together. Plus, you can often score gold or silver-plated pieces for next to nothing.
Bonus Styling Tip:
Take your thrifted pieces and mix them with your everyday wardrobe.
  • Oversized blazers with hoodies and sneakers? Very now.
  • Cowboy boots with linen dresses? Yes, please.
  • Statement belts over a thrifted blazer? Chef’s kiss.
The key: don’t be afraid to experiment. Thrifting gives you permission to play.
